Prestedge\u2019s new-look Brickies kick-off their 2026\/27 campaign where their 2025\/26 season finished, at the Mayfield Stadium for their third trip to AFC Croydon this calender year.<\/p>\n

For three years The Rams of Ramsgate were a thorn in Sittingbourne\u2019s side before their promotion to the Isthmian Premier Division in the 2024\/25 campaign. Now though, it is the Rams of AFC Croydon who seem to be mustering up the same kind of competitive rivalry as both sides look to push for promotion once again this campaign.<\/p>\n

The Mayfield Stadium is where Reece Prestedge\u2019s Sittingbourne side were beaten 2-0 in the Play-off Semi-final back in late March. The Rams would then lose their Play-off Final just three days later when they returned back at The Mayfield with the home advantage once again, but they suffered the same fate as Sittingbourne two seasons ago when they lost out on promotion via the dreaded penalty-out on home soil.<\/p>\n

This will be the third time Sittingbourne have travelled to The Mayfield after February\u2019s 3-1 loss (in the League) and April\u2019s 2-0 loss (in the Play-off Semi-Final). Third time lucky for the Brickies? Reece Prestedge will certainly hope so as he and his side will look to put to bed the demons from that Play-off Semi-final defeat.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not all doom and gloom for the Brickies though, the Sittingbourne faithful will be keen to point out that their side beat the Rams in their first three League meetings, with both sides sitting level with three wins each. However, the Rams have won once in the League, once in the post-season Play-offs and once in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round.<\/p>\n
