Prestedge’s Sittingbourne travel to Sheppey United as both sides enter the Kent Senior Cup this Tuesday evening.
Reece Prestedge’s Brickies will make the short 7.5 mile trip over the Sheppey Crossing to Holm Park as they enter their third cup competition this campaign.
Both Kent rivals participated in FA Cup action this past Saturday – Sittingbourne lost 4-3 at home to AFC Greenwich Borough, while Sheppey United won 2-1 at Redhill.
In the Isthmian League South East, the Brickies sit 4th with 10 points from their opening four League games, whereas the Ites sit 16th with 3 points from their opening four League games.
Following this game, Sittingbourne return to League action when they travel to Punjab United on Saturday, while on the same day Sheppey United travel to Isthmian League South East rivals Deal Town when they battle it out in the FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round.
With such competitive games at the weekend and an intense schedule of games upcoming this month, rotation from both sides is a guarantee – just how serious either manager will take this competition is yet unknown. One thing is for certain though, those supporters in the stands and the players who pull on their sides respective shirts will certainly be desperate for a win in the first Swale derby of the campaign.
